Monday August 16, 2021
COVID testing will be taking place at Dahlia Aug. 5 and Aug 12th, from 8-2:30 pm.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade Welcome Play Date
Sunday August 15, 2021
A tradition for our new students in the kinder and 1st grade classes is for existing families and parents to host and support a play date so kids can meet before the first day of school. This year’s play date is at the Eagle Rock Rec Center on from 10-1pm. Existing Doves please show up in your Dahlia spirit wear to help welcome our youngest and newest members of the Dove community.
Join us and get involved! Here are some things we have coming up and need your help. All these events and activities are geared to build our amazing Dahlia community, and you can give as much or as little time as you can. We need an active, supportive community of parents in order for our school to continue to be great!
Calling All Artists!
Sat. Aug 7 & Sun. 8 we will be painting the Dahlia restrooms. We need help organizing and painting.
Do you have a gift for interior design? We want to improve our library setting, including new paint and furniture. Join this committee and help us make improvements to our great and important school library.
Ice Cream Social – Aug 27, 5-7pm at Eagle Rock Rec Center
Our school’s first event of the school year will be the ice cream social on Aug 27, 5-7pm at Eagle Rock Rec Center. We are looking for a Committee Chair, and volunteers to support this event.
Dahlia Skate Night – Sept. 17
This fun family night out needs volunteers to sell tickets and help promote the event. Typically a few parents sell tickets before and after school, during drop off.
Dahlia Dines Out
We are looking for someone to chair this committee. Help us solicit partnerships with local restaurants for these fundraising events. On Dine Out nights, Dahlia families are encouraged to eat at certain restaurants (where the turnout is usually amazing!), and a portion of the receipts generated from our families are donated to the school. We also hope that if you work at or own a restaurant, you will consider hosting a Dahlia Dine Out event.
Message from the PTA President
Dollars for Doves
What We Fund
The Dollars for Doves Annual Fund is the combined yearly financial commitment that our families make to help pay for expenses not covered by the state funding Dahlia receives as a public school. Services like Teacher Assistants, Social Justice programming, robotics, and a variety of other enriching academic programs for our students would not exist without the necessary financial offset provided by Dollars for Doves.
